Meet the Artist
Alexandra Hansen is a Wyoming-based contemporary Western artist known for her distinctive oil paintings that blend vintage patina textures with bold, modern color. Raised on a ranch in South Dakota with a background in rodeo, Hansen draws deeply from the landscapes, wildlife, and culture of the American West. Her work captures both the grit and romance of rural life, often portraying animals, western icons, and nostalgic scenes through a stylized lens that feels both timeless and fresh.
After years of entrepreneurial ventures, Hansen returned to her lifelong passion for painting, developing a signature style that combines weathered, antique-inspired backgrounds with striking pops of color. This contrast gives her work a sense of history layered with contemporary energy.
Hansen’s paintings have been exhibited in prominent Western art spaces, including the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, Coors Western Art, Mountain Oyster and others. Her work is collected by private collectors and businesses seeking modern interpretations of Western heritage.
Beyond the studio, Hansen is passionate about sharing art with her community. She teaches painting classes, mentors aspiring artists, and hosts creative events designed to make art accessible and welcoming for people of all skill levels.
Through her paintings, Hansen seeks to preserve the spirit of the West while reimagining it through a contemporary artistic voice.
